A Russian attack On a school in the town of Bilohorivka in eastern Ukraine is thought to have killed at least 60 people, according to the regional governor of Luhansk.
Serhiy Haidai wrote on his Telegram channel that following the walkout on Saturday afternoon, fires blazed at the school. Two people had been confirmed dead, he said. He noted that seven of the 30 persons removed were hurt.
“All 60 persons who remained under the rubble of the buildings most certainly died,” Haidai said.
Haidai commented ahead of a planned video chat between the leaders of the world’s largest economies and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, the day before Russia celebrates Victory Day.
The Ukrainian president addressed the nation and asked everyone to join hands in serving their motherland and give a befitting reply to the Russian invaders.
