US donates 2500 HIMARS missiles to Ukraine.

New deliveries of missiles for the HIMARS MLRS for Ukraine include 2500 missiles.

Against the background of the U.S. announcing ammunition deliveries for Ukrainian HIMARS systems, it became known that in 2023 Ukraine received 2500 missiles from the U.S.

Officially, data on the number of missiles does not appear in the U.S. statement. However, considering the information voiced by the Ukrainian military, we are talking about this amount of ammunition.

According to several assumptions, the United States specifically did not begin to voice the amount of ammunition transferred to Ukraine for the HIMARS MLRS in order thereby to hide the real capabilities of the Ukrainian MLRS, probably in order to minimize the likelihood of new Russian strikes on warehouses with shells for these systems.

However, deliveries are likely to be limited shortly, and before May of this year, Ukraine should not expect large new shipments of these munitions.

The supply of a large batch of ammunition is due to the fact that the United States fears that Russia may organize an attack on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

Therefore the delivery of operational strikes may be extremely important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, it is still not known how many more M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS systems are in service with Ukraine, and therefore it is very problematic to assess the real scale of the use of the M30 and M31 missiles supplied to Ukraine.

The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a lightweight, all-weather, mobile artillery system capable of firing various rockets and missiles. It is designed to provide long-range, precision fires for the U.S. military and its allies.

HIMARS has a range of up to 300 kilometers and can carry a variety of payloads, including the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), and the Improved HIMARS Rocket (IHOR).

It can be mounted on various vehicles, including the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) and the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). In addition to its firepower, HIMARS is highly mobile and can be deployed rapidly to any location.

It is also equipped with advanced communications and command and control systems, which allow it to be integrated into larger military operations. Overall, HIMARS is a highly capable and versatile weapon system well-suited for various missions, including long-range artillery support, counterbattery fire, and strikes against high-value targets.
