Republic Day is celebrated nationwide on January 26th annually. The day is traditionally celebrated with a parade of colour along Delhi’s Kartavya Path. Still, many individuals also took the opportunity to celebrate the significant national holiday by sharing online declarations of patriotism.

Hashtags as #RepublicDay2023 and #jaihind quickly flooded Twitter. Everyone from everyday folks to famous athletes and actors posted something in honour of Republic Day. Videos of flag-raising ceremonies held in several locations were also widely distributed.
Susanta Nanda, an officer in the Indian Forest Service, recently posted a photo of an unidentified bird whose plumage features the three colours of the Indian flag. Nanda captioned this photo, “Our tricolour on wings…” Congratulations on the Republic Day!

Vishal Dadlani, a musician and singer, tweeted a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt with a picture of India’s first Minister of Law and Justice, Dr. B R Ambedkar. He wrote, “Happy #RepublicDay2023. May India always be the Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic that Dr. Ambedkar wrote about in the Constitution of India.
