Belarus wants to buy S-400 from Russia


Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on August 10 announced that Minsk is ready to buy military equipment from Russia worth 300 million to 500 million USD, including advanced S-400 missile systems.

The statement of the President of Belarus was made at a time when relations between this country and the West are strained. On August 10, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced that it would carefully evaluate the new sanctions imposed by the US, UK and Canada against Minsk, and would take corresponding retaliatory measures.

However, the ministry also stressed that Belarus supports dialogue with the West based on the standards of international law, not on the basis of sanctions.
