Do existing 5th generation aircraft meet the characteristics of a 5th generation fighter?

In Recent year, several countries in the world made public statements that they began developing the 6th generation fighter : “F / A-XX” (Boeing, USA), “T-60” Russia and “Team Tempest” (EU) , Japan (F-X) , China (J-XX) and Taiwan Advanced Defense Fighter . And the most shocking news came from China , According to Forbes China will be the first country to be operational 6th gen aircraft .

It’s strange, but even not all countries are armed with 5 generation fighters. So what do we know about 5th generation fighters? Well, firstly, today in the world there are only 4 aircraft declared as 5th generation fighters : F-22 and F-35 (USA), SU-57 (Russia) and J-20 (China). And India AMCA (5th gen aircraft ) Still in design and it may take another 10 years to operational.

Basic Criteria of Fifth Gen Aircraft

  1. minimum fighter visibility in the radar wavelength range and in the infrared range (EPR).
  2. multifunctionality, in the form of the ability to defeat air, ground and surface targets.
  3. the ability to fly a fighter at supersonic speed without including afterburner.
  4. super maneuverability.
  5. The fighter must have a circular information system.
  6. airborne radar with AFAR .

And YES you guessed it right , the first 5-generation fighter, the F-22 , just meets all of the above requirements . Thats why Americans never sold the F-22 to anyone .

Let’s evaluate the rest of the fighters.Let’s start with the the Russian Su-57

Currently Su-57 facing lots of issues like airframe design , its engines are essentially the same as those of the aircraft it is designed to replace, the Su-35S. it seems that the EPR of the aircraft is much worse than that of the F-22, and even without the “product 30” it cannot fly at supersonic speed without afterburner on . In 2018, India withdrew from the planned joint Russian-Indian Su-57 development. Indians were evidently not convinced that the stealth and flight characteristics could provide exactly what they were looking for and they go for their own AMCA . After that Russia face huge budget issues .

f-35 (USA)

Lets first talk about F-35 . The F-35 has neither super-maneuverability, nor the possibility of a fighter flying at supersonic speed without including afterburner . Simply put, a workhorse. Therefore, the Americans are selling, under the guise of a 5th generation fighter, their F-35s to almost anyone who wants it, even to the same Poland . One of the Polish experts (J. Reichel) openly declares that he does not see the fundamental difference between the F-35 and F-16, except at a huge price .

J-20 (China)

Let’s talk about the Chinese so called J-20 fifth gen aircraft .Immediately it does not meet 2 criteria of the 5th generation aircraft : super maneuverability and the possibility of a fighter flying at supersonic speed without turning on afterburner . The fact is that today the Russian AL-31FN is installed on the J-20 (and this is not even the AL-41FN). Maybe Chinese engines (WS-10 and WS-15) will provide the J-20 with super-maneuverability and the possibility of a fighter flying at supersonic speed without turning on afterburner, but this will only happen in the future. Also J-20 have major defect in stealth design because it was repeatedly detect by Indian Airforce the  Chinese so called stealth aircraft also few days back Taiwan airdefense detect J-20 in their radar .

So why Chinese always roar about their J-20 , i will tell how they make their shit aircraft by steal and copy from USA and Russia .

What happens if we combine together Russian and American fighters of the 5th generation?

Of course, countries such as Russia and the United States can create 5 generation fighters (SU-57, F-22 and F-35), since they have a complete cycle in the creation of aircraft . And suddenly, China became the 3rd country with a 5th generation fighter : in 2016, a pair of low-visibility fighter J-20s were presented at the air show . Anyone who is more or less knowledgeable in aviation will immediately have doubts: like China, which fighter aircraft generates 4 generations (J-11 is a copy of SU-27SK, J-13 is a copy of SU-30MK, J-15 is a copy SU-33), and here once and immediately created an inconspicuous fighter of the 5th generation J-20 . Where did the J-20 come from?

According to The National Interest publication, the J-20 is a kind of symbiosis from Russian and American developments : the glider from the experimental MIG-1.44 (aircraft according to the Utka scheme + Russian AL-31FN engines), the nose and the torch are identical to the same elements on the F-22, the air intakes and the vertical tail are very similar to the F-35 elements . Well, the fact that drawings and developments according to MIG-1.42 (the first version of MIG-1.44) were sold to China in 90 years, no one doubts. But where did the Chinese get the data for F-35 and F-22? E. Snowden helped us figure this out : in the documents declassified by him, it is written that Chinese hackers have repeatedly stolen “Lockheed Martin” technical data on the F-35 . But did the Chinese hurry, calling the J-20 a low-visibility fighter? It seems that the Chinese hurried . And this is confirmed by  our Indian military pilots : during training flights on the Russian SU-30MKI (still equipped with the Zhuk-AE radar) , the Chinese J-20 was repeatedly spotted on the screens of its radars .

So the talk about the superiority of the J-20 over the SU-57, F-35 and F-22 has no basis. But the Chinese, in this matter , as they say, “got out”: they say, the stealth coverage of the J-20 was not calculated under Russian radars. So are there 5 generations of Chinese J-20?

After the analysis of all aircraft from different aircraft fighters of the 6th generation we will not see soon.
