The Russian military destroyed three Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft in a day.
The planes tried to attack the positions of the Russian military but were promptly detected and hit. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially announced information on this subject.
All three Ukrainian combat aircraft were shot down on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic. This may indicate that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are concentrating their strikes in this particular direction. However, enemy aircraft are said to have been successfully hit.
“Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down three Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the areas of the settlements of Yasenovoye, Pushkino, and Maksimilyanovka of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, – reports the defense department of the country.
How many Su-25 attack aircraft are in service with Ukraine is unknown; however, according to data at the end of 2021, the Ukrainian Air Force included about 40 of these combat aircraft. At the same time, the facts of the transfer of the Su-25 attack aircraft to Ukraine by other countries were not recorded.
In total, since the start of the JMD, according to the RF Ministry of Defense, 370 aircraft and 200 helicopters have been destroyed in Ukraine.
The Sukhoi Design Bureau of the Soviet Union created the Su-25, a single-seat, twin-engine jet fighter. Ukrainian pilots have been using this aircraft type since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. It was originally developed to provide close air support for Soviet ground forces. The plane can take a lot of punishment and make it back safely to the hangar. The Russian word for “Rook,” “Grach,” describes this word.
The Su-25 is a highly maneuverable aircraft capable of performing low-altitude flight and air-to-ground attacks using a variety of weapons. The aircraft is equipped with a 30mm cannon and can carry a variety of bombs and rockets. In addition, the Su-25 can also be fitted with air-to-air missiles for self-defense, although it is not typically used in an air-to-air combat role. It also has the ability to fly low and slow for better accuracy when delivering ordnance and for evading enemy air defenses. It’s known for its durability, ability to resist heavy damage, and continued flying.
