UK sends Apache attack helicopters to Ukraine

The UK has decided to transfer Apache attack helicopters and guided missiles to Ukraine.

In addition to heavy Challenger 2 tanks, AS-90 self-propelled artillery mounts, and a set of ammunition, the UK decided to transfer to Ukraine a batch of AH-64 Apache attack helicopters with a set of long-range guided missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 22 kilometers.

According to the Mirror, the UK has decided to “change the rules of the game” on the territory of Ukraine by supplying modern weapons. Considering that such helicopters are called tank destroyers, it is evident that London wants to give Ukraine a severe advantage over Russian armored vehicles.

Considering that Apache helicopters can be equipped with Israeli Spike guided missiles with a range of up to 22 kilometers (the latter were actively used in Karabakh, Syria, and other countries – ed.), this is a fairly severe threat.

At the moment, it is known that we are talking about the transfer to Ukraine of 4 Apache helicopters with a set of guided missile weapons.

The UK will send attack helicopters armed with deadly Hellfire missiles to Ukraine in what is hailed as a ‘game changer.’ Apache helicopters will support Ukraine’s desperate struggle, which is now in its 11th month. A new support package, including tanks, was confirmed yesterday by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. A senior defense source said up to four Apaches would be sent.

An insider said: “Apache will be a game changer. The tanks will arrive first, and it will take some time before the helicopters can be deployed. Other NATO members will now follow suit.”, according to the British edition.

The Russian side has not yet commented on the delivery of attack helicopters to Ukraine.
